WORCESTER, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team suffered a 6-1 road loss to Assumption College on Saturday. The Penmen fall to 1-7 and 0-2 in Northeast-10 play, while the Greyhounds improve to 5-3 and 1-1 within the Northeast-10.

Junior Sarah Gluck (East Bridgewater, Mass.) scored Southern New Hampshire's lone goal in the setback, while twin sister Alyson Gluck (East Bridgewater, Mass.) assisted on the tally. Freshman goalkeeper Jill Piacitelli (East Greenwich, R.I.) registered 13 saves in her first collegiate start.

Assumption was led by junior Kiley Colucci (Gloucester, R.I.), who notched three goals on Saturday.

The Greyhounds staked themselves to a 4-0 halftime lead after a pair of goals by Colucci and single goals from junior Sarah Frahm (Salem, N.H.) and sophomore Andrea Koslowski (Warren, Mass.). Piacitelli turned aside six shots during the opening 35 minutes of play.

Southern New Hampshire trimmed the Assumption lead to three goals early in the second half on Gluck's first goal of the season. Less than five minutes into the second stanza, Alyson Gluck sent a cross from the left side of the field over to Sarah, who pushed a shot to the back of the cage to make it 4-1.

Colucci completed her hat trick just over seven minutes later before freshman Allison Sheahan (Higganum, Conn.) capped the scoring with her fourth of the season with 18:37 left to play.

The Penmen return to action on Tuesday when they host Franklin Pierce University in a Northeast-10 Conference showdown at 6 p.m. on Larkin Field. The Greyhounds will face Dowling College tomorrow at 1 p.m.
