Box Score

MANCHESTER, N.H.Sara Halbich (Salem, N.H.) became the 10th player in Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse history to record 100 career points as the Penmen cruised past American International College 23-10 in Northeast-10 action Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field.  The Penmen improve to 4-10 and 3-8 in the NE-10 with the win, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 2-12 and 1-9 in the league.

Halbich needed two points for the century mark entering the game and scored her second goal of the game at the 23:40 mark of the first half to give SNHU a 5-1 lead.  She finished with three goals.  Ellie Morin (Scarborough, Maine) led SNHU with five goals and two assists, while Phoebe Clark (Concord, N.H.) totaled four goals and an assist.  Emily Mongeau (Westborough, Mass.) registered three goals, four assists and 11 draw controls, while Emily King (Florence, Mass.) joined Halbich with three goals.  Jade Antonangeli (Bourne, Mass.) had two goals and an assist, while Jenna Crupi (Albany, N.Y.), Lauryn Wheeler (Bow, N.H.) and Justine Clark (Oceanside, N.Y.) all had single tallies.

Courtney Szawlowski paced American International with three goals and two assists.

Southern New Hampshire never trailed, scoring the game's first four goals and holding a 6-1 lead 9:44 into the game following a Phoebe Clark tally.  Back-to-back Yellow Jacket goals by Ashleigh and Bridget Szawlowski brought the guests within 6-3 at the 17:38 mark, but SNHU outscored AIC 7-1 the rest of the half and Crupi's goal 2:57 before intermission made it 13-4.  AIC scored the first two goals of the second half to pull within 13-6 with just under 27 minutes to play, but that would be as close as they would get over the final 30 minutes.

Kellie Renk (Kennebunk, Maine) made five saves in goal en route to the win for Southern New Hampshire, while Yellow Jacket counterpart Nicole Sawula made seven stops.  The Penmen outshot American International 36-23.

Southern New Hampshire closes out the 2012 season Tuesday night when it hosts Saint Michael's College in a 7:00 Northeast-10 contest.
