BOX SCORE

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Libby Parent (Hinesburg, VT) registered five goals and a  pair of assists to lead No. 10 Southern New Hampshire University to a 23-10 Northeast-10 women's lacrosse victory over Bryant University Saturday afternoon.  The Penmen won their third in a row and improved to 9-5 and 8-1 in the NE-10, while the Bulldogs are now 8-6 and 6-3 in the league.

Parent was one of three Penmen who recorded five goals, as Laura Rotolo (Waltham, MA) and Carole Lee (Derry, NH) each registered five goals and an assist.  Sherry Darrell (Bow, NH) scored three goals and added an assist, while Lucretia Joy (Portland, ME) had two goals and dished out three assists.  Nikki Downey (Rutland, VT) had a goal and two assists while Jami Shugrue (Lowell, MA) added the other SNHU goal.

Caitlin Hansen and Delia Glover led Bryant with three goals apiece.

Southern New Hampshire wasted little time building up the lead, getting on the board 2:54 in on a Rotolo goal and scoring the game's first seven goals to take a 7-0 lead 13:27 in on the third of three straight goals by Lee.  The Bulldogs would go on a 7-2 run and get it down to 9-7 with 5:38 left before halftime, but goals by Parent with 4:37 to go and Joy with 13 seconds left made it 11-7 at halftime.

Lee scored one minute into the second half to make it 12-7.  The Bulldogs trailed 15-9 with 23:07 left before SNHU scored eight of the game's final nine goals, including seven in a row that gave the guests a 22-9 lead on a Parent goal with 7:48 left in the game.

Katie Clark (Norwich, CT) made 14 saves in goal for Southern New Hampshire as it outshot Bryant 38-30.

Southern New Hampshire closes out NE-10 regular season play Tuesday when it travels to Merrimack College for a 7:00 contest.  The Penmen can assure themselves of being no lower than the No. 2 seed in the upcoming NE-10 Tournament with a win.
