MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was chosen as the NE10 Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 18, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Den Hartog went 8-2 last week at the ITA East Regional Championship, including 5-1 in the singles bracket, en route to the finals. Den Hartog, seeded sixth in the singles bracket, beat Nos. 13 and 14, before losing to fifth-seeded Roni Rikkonen of Queens (N.Y.) College, 7-5, 7-5 in the final. Den Hartog also went 3-1 in doubles to advance to the semifinals.
Den Hartog and the Penmen return to action Wednesday (Sept. 20) at 5:30 p.m. when they open their NE10 slate against Saint Michael's College at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.
