Female Athlete of the Week: Alina Kupfer - Women's Tennis - So.
Alina Kupfer (Baldham, Germany) went 4-0 at the ITA East Regional Championship to reach Monday morning's singles bracket semifinal against 31st-ranked Elita Silins (St. Thomas Aquinas College). Kupfer, seeded third in the bracket, also defeated both the 30th- and 15th-seeded players to reach the semis. Kupfer was also 3-1 in doubles play to advance to the semifinals.

Male Athlete of the Week: Jesse Den Hartog - Men's Tennis - Sr.
Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) was 4-0 in the singles bracket at the ITA East Regional Championship, as he made it to the semifinal against 14th-seeded Viktor Hockl (Adelphi University). Den Hartog, the sixth seed in the bracket, took down No. 13 en route to the semis. Den Hartog was also 3-1 in doubles play, reaching the semifinal round.


Women's Soccer (3-0-1, 0-0-0 NE10)

Notes:
- The Penmen, ranked 24th in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Poll, went 1-0-1 during a pair of matches in Florida last week, defeating Lynn University, 1-0, Thursday, before tying Barry University, 1-1, Saturday.
- Sophomore Imogen Noon (Gold Coast, Australia) scored a huge goal to help SNHU notch the victory at Lynn. With the match deadlocked in a scoreless draw, Noon hustled to intercept a back-pass in her own offensive zone and scored with just 1:49 on the clock to give the Penmen the eventual win.
- Freshman Liv Gantelius (Lidingoe, Sweden) helped SNHU escape with the tie at Barry, as she recovered her own rebound and scored the equalizer with 16:12 on the clock.
- Sophomore Claudia Keith (Danvers, Mass.) stopped 10 of the 11 shots she faced during the week. Keith made all five saves in the blanking of Lynn and then turned away another five shots in the Barry tie. Keith earned her second NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week honor earlier Monday.


Men's Soccer (4-0-2, 1-0-0 NE10)

Notes:
- Men's soccer went 1-0-1 last week, playing to a 1-1 draw with the University of Bridgeport on Wednesday, before opening NE10 play with a 2-0 blanking of Adelphi University on Saturday.
- Sophomore Philipp Herrmann (Bruckmuehl, Germany) scored two goals against Adelphi, as he kicked off the scoring with a penalty kick goal late in the eighth minute and struck again in the 23rd minute. Herrmann was crowned the NE10 Player of the Week earlier Monday.
- Fellow sophomore Tyler Kraft (Londonderry, N.H.) scored the lone goal against Bridgeport, tying the match in the 83rd minute.
- Graduate student Rafa Escobedo (Santander, Spain), who assisted on Herrmann's second goal against the Panthers, played a big role, defensively, as the Penmen allowed just one goal on nine shots, including holding Adelphi without a shot for 90 minutes. Escobedo received NE10 Defensive Player of the Week honors earlier Monday.
- Junior Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) stopped three of the four shots he faced during the week. Neal made three saves in the Bridgeport tie and then did not need to make a save in the shutout of Adelphi.


Women's Volleyball (5-3, 0-0 NE10)

Notes:
- Women's volleyball was idle last week and returns to action, following a nine-day layoff, at Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday (7 p.m.).


Field Hockey (1-3, 0-1 NE10)

This Week's Games:
9/20 vs. Franklin Pierce - 6 p.m.
9/23 vs. Adelphi - 2 p.m.

Notes:
- Field hockey went 0-1 last week, as it had its Monday meeting with cross-town rival Saint Anselm College postponed due to weather and then suffered a hard-fought, 3-2 loss at Pace University in overtime Saturday.
- Junior Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) tied the match in the third quarter to eventually set up overtime.
- Sophomore Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands) opened the scoring in the 14th minute.
- Sophomore Emma Peeters (Wageningen, Netherlands) matched her career high with 13 saves in the defeat.


Cross Country

This Week's Races:

Notes:
- The women's and men's cross country teams competed Sunday at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, known as the largest on-campus cross country meet in New England.
- The women finished fifth out of 37 teams at the meet, with sophomore Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) leading the way. Her time of 18:42.2 was tied for the 12th best in program history and was a personal best. It ranked her 28th, overall, at the meet.
- The men were ninth out of 39 teams, as freshman Eric Sekyaya (Burlington, Mass.) clocked in first for the Penmen at 25:48.7. He was 41st, overall.

- Women's tennis spent its week at the ITA East Regional Championships in Flushing, N.Y.. at the USTA National Tennis Center.
- Sophomore Alina Kupfer (Baldham, Germany) went 4-0 in singles to reach Monday morning's semifinal against 31st-ranked Elita Silins (St. Thomas Aquinas College). Kupfer, seeded third in the bracket, also defeated both the 30th- and 15th-seeded players to reach the semis.
- Kupfer and graduate student Verena Weindl (Munich, Germany) also advanced to the semifinals of the doubles bracket, before falling to sixth-seeded Katarina Liedbeck and Roisin Boyd of Adelphi University on unday..

Notes:
- Men's tennis had another match postponed due to weather and spent the rest of the week at the ITA East Regional Championships in Flushing, N.Y.. at the USTA National Tennis Center.
- Senior Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) was 4-0, as he made it to Monday's singles bracket semifinal against 14th-seeded Viktor Hockl (Adelphi University). Den Hartog, the sixth seed in the bracket, took down No. 13 en route to the semis.
- Junior Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway) and sophomore Melvin Vix (Thionville, France) advanced to the finals in the doubles bracket. The duo, seeded fifth, takes on St. Thomas Aquinas College's Seth Newman and Henry Ronnberg on Monday. Berling is looking for his third straight ITA East Regional Championship doubles title, this time with a different partner.


Men's Golf

Notes:
- Men's golf finished seventh at the Franklin Pierce Fall Shoot Out on Monday at Northern Spy Country Club.
- Sophomore Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) carded a 5-over 145 to finished tied for 19th. He shot a 73 in the opening round, before finishing with a 72.
