Women's Hoop Turns In One of Nation's Top GPAs

Penmen compiled a 3.516 GPA for the 2022-23 Season

ATLANTA – The Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team was honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) with a Special Mention when the organization announced its Division II Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll on Tuesday.

The Penmen, who compiled a 3.516 grade-point average this season, ranked fourth in the East Region and second in the NE10. Only Adelphi University (3.563) had a higher GPA amongst conference foes, while Thomas Jefferson University (3.674) led the East Region.

Upper Iowa University paced all NCAA Division II members with a 3.894 GPA.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2022-23 season is the 28th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
