MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University athletic department saw 242 of its student-athletes, representing all 18 programs, earn NE10 Spring 2023 Academic Honor Roll status, the league office announced Friday.
In total, 3,770 NE10 student-athletes earned a grade point average of 3.0 or better, as the Academic Honor Roll members made up 64 percent of the total number of student-athletes from the 13 NE10 institutions and four associate members. In addition, 12 of 13 NE10 full member institutions had at least 50-percent of their student-athletes on the list. Six institutions had over 65-percent of their student-athletes included, which included SNHU at 66 percent. The Penmen also had 24 perfect 4.0 GPAs.
The Academic Honor Roll – formerly the Commissioner's Honor Roll – acknowledges the commitment of NE10 student-athletes to excel in the classroom with three designations – Academic Excellence (4.0 GPA), Academic Distinction (3.50-3.99 GPA) and Academic Honors (3.00-3.49 GPA).
In a sport-by-sport breakdown, the Penmen women's tennis team placed first in the league in their sport with nine selections, while men's tennis was second with 10.
