Four From Men's Tennis Honored with CSC Academic All-District Nods

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Junior Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), sophomore Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway), graduate student Fernando Torres (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) and sophomore Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team, were recently selected for the Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.

Den Hartog, the NE10 Vern Cox Player of the Year and an NE10 All-Conference First Team pick at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, went 12-4 in singles, including 5-1 at No. 1, 7-3 at No. 2 and 5-1 in NE10 play. In doubles, he was 12-3 including 3-0 at No. 1, 8-3 at No. 2 and a perfect 5-0 in league play. He is a business administration major with a 3.95 grade-point average.

Berling, a business administration and entrepreneurship major with a 3.65 GPA, was a member of the NE10 All-Championship Team. He went 21-7 in singles, including 6-0 at No. and 5-1 in NE10 play, as well as 20-6 in doubles, including 12-5 at No. 1 and 4-2 in conference action. Berling captured both the singles and doubles titles at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region Championships back in September.

Torres, an NE10 First Team selection at No. 3 singles, was 14-8 in singles, including 11-6 at No. 3 and 5-1 in the NE10. In doubles, he finished 19-7, including 12-5 at No. 1 and 3-3 in the NE10. He joined with Berling to claim the ITA East Regional doubles crown. Torres is pursuing his MBA with a concentration in business analytics and owns a 3.96 GPA.

Nadeau, a business administration and sport management major with a 3.81 GPA, was a First Team honoree at No. 5 singles. The NE10 Championship Most Outstanding Player, Nadeau was 11-8, including 4-2 in league play, and 14-4 in doubles, including 11-3 at No. 2 and 5-0 in the NE10.
 
The Penmen finished the season 14-6, including 5-1 in NE10 play. They upset the top two seeds on the road to capture their sixth NE10 title, before receiving their 10th NCAA Championship bid. They lost in the round of 32.
