Cam Caraher (Plymouth, Mass.) each had a hand in seven runs, as the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team won a pair of games against American International College on Friday at Bedard Field. The Penmen posted an 11-5 victory in the first game and then breezed to a 15-6, eight-inning win in game two.

KEY MOMENTS – GAME 1
- Southern New Hampshire struck four times in the top of the first, with an RBI groundout from junior Mike La Rocca (Vero Beach, Fla.) and a run-scoring single back to the pitcher by Schwartz bringing home the first two runs. Burgos lifted a two-out pop-up to shortstop that was dropped and allowed the final two unearned runs to score.
- After American International scored one in the home half and two more in the second to pull within 4-3, SNHU grabbed two back in the third, with an RBI single to center by Caraher and a sacrifice fly to center off the bat of Burgos that pushed the lead back to 6-3.
- AIC scored one in the bottom of the inning, but an RBI single from La Rocca and a run-scoring double by Schwartz extended the Penmen advantage to 8-4 in the fourth.
- With the score 8-5 in the eighth, freshman Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) led off with a solo home run and sophomore Anderson Moreno (Bronx, N.Y.) added a two-out, two-run single to make it an 11-5 game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 1
- Schwartz finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and a pair of runs scored.
- Rivera went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and scored three times.
- Caraher (RBI, two runs) and Moreno (two RBI, run) were both 2-for-5.
- Pisano was 1-for-4 with the home run, RBI and run scored.
- La Rocca was 1-for-5 with a pair of RBI and a run.
- Senior Jeffrey Praml (Bridgewater, N.J.; 5-1) was charged with five runs – three runs – on eight hits, while striking out six and walking three, in eight innings.
- Freshman Parker Lendrum (Exeter, N.H.) gave up a pair of hits and struck out one over a scoreless inning of work.
KEY MOMENTS – GAME 2
- SNHU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second, with a walk, two errors and a fielder's choice scoring the four runs.
- The lead would be short-lived, as the Yellow Jackets struck for five in the bottom of the frame, with a two-run double from Yeudy Ramirez and a two-run single by Chad Lavelle doing the bulk of the damage.
- An RBI single to center from Burgos tied the game, 5-5, before freshman Jake Risedorf (Barkhamsted, Conn.) reached on an error to score a go-ahead unearned run for the Penmen.
- SNHU scored four seven times in the fourth, sending 11 batters to the plate. A wild pitch, error and a balk brought in the first three runs, before another RBI base knock to center for Burgos, a two-run triple to right by Risedorf and a run-scoring single to left by freshman Dyrenson Wouters (Oranjestad, Aruba) made it 13-5.
- RBI groundouts by sophomore John Chacho (Seymour, Conn.) and Burgos stretched the lead to 15-5 in the fifth before AIC added a single run in the sixth.

- Risedorf went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a pair of runs scored.
- Burgos finished 2-for-4 with a walk, three RBI and three runs.
- Chacho was 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run.
- La Rocca went 1-for-3 with a pair of walks and two runs scored.
- Wouters was 1-for-4 with two RBI and a run.
- Caraher was 0-for-1, but walked three times, collected an RBI and scored three runs.
- Graduate student Josh Roberge (Chelmsford, Mass.) went the distance, allowing six runs – five earned – on 10 hits over seven innings, while striking out 11 and walking two, to improve to 3-3.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, receiving votes in both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 and Collegiate Baseball Division II Poll, snaps a four-game skid.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with AIC, 34-8, and has won 13 of the last 15.
- Pisano's home run was the first of his career.
