Shane Siegel (Selden, N.Y.) staked the ninth-seeded Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team to a 1-0 lead in the 61st minute, but eighth-seeded Bloomsburg University rallied for a 2-1 victory in the opening round of the NCAA Championship tournament at Sodexo Field.

- After a scoreless first half, Southern New Hampshire jumped on the board first midway through the 61st minute when Escobedo sent a low cross from the left, across the goalmouth to the right side of the box, where Siegel hammered it home to make it 1-0.
- Bloomsburg tied it in the 65th minute when Stephen Hollis fired a shot from the left side of the box that squeezed inside the right post.
- The Huskies went in front, 2-1, in the 77th off a free kick that led to a scrum in front after the ball was knocked down by a SNHU defender, but Kody Besser cleaned up the mess and put the ball in the back of the net.
