Field Hockey Drops 3-1 Decision to Saint Anselm

Christis Scores Again For Penmen

Records: SNHU 3-8 (2-4 NE10), Saint Anselm 6-5 (5-2 NE10)

Sophomore Annemartine Christis (s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) scored for SNHU, but the Penmen fell 3-1 at Saint Anselm College in an NE10 Field Hockey contest Wednesday.

KEY MOMENTS 
  • Senior Joanna Archambault scores the first goal of the game off of a loose ball on a Saint Anselm penalty corner. Maddie Davis gets the assist (4:29).
  • Penmen miss a chance to tie the game on a fast break shot that goes wide right. Shot by Junior Emma Thibodeau (Danvers, Mass.) (18:33).
  • Maggie Malloy flings in a rebound to increase the Saint Anselm lead to 2-0 (33:54)
  • Penmen take advantage of a penalty corner and cut the lead in half. Christis scored off a pass from Wiersma.
  • Junior Shannon Walsh scores an easy goal to make it 3-1 after receiving a beautiful pass from Davis on a penalty corner (47:20).

  • Saint Anselm had a 20-8 shot advantage, including 11-3 on target,
  • SNHU had 11 penalty corners while Saint Anselm had 7.

  • Christis tallied her fourth goal of the season which is tops on the team.  Her 11 points also led the squad.
  • Saint Anselm now 14-0 all time vs SNHU.
  • Saint Anselm has still yet to allow more than 2 goals in a game this season.
  • The Penmen are 1-5 in last 6 games.

  • The Penmen will return  home on Saturday (Oct. 22) at 1:00 p.m. to play the University of New Haven on Dr. George Larkin Field.
