Aaron Gray (Providence, R.I.) scored a game-high 22 points, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team began the season 2-0 with a 74-61 win against Bloomfield College on Saturday evening at Corino Court.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire trailed by five with just under nine minutes to play in the opening half when it scored 19 of the final 26 points to take a 36-29 lead into the break. Long and Layman each submitted seven points during the stretch.
- The Penmen kept that momentum going, buzzing out of the locker room on a 16-4 run to widen their advantage to 52-33 less than five minutes in. Gray went ballistic during the stretch, nailing four 3-pointers and scoring 14 points, including the first 12.
- Freshman Jordan Brathwaite (Silver Spring, Md.) knocked down a triple at the 10:42 mark to give SNHU its largest lead of the night at 61-40 and Bloomfield would get no closer than 13 the rest of the way.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Sophomore Jacari Sanders (San Antonio, Texas) tallied nine points (3-8 FG, 3-4 FT) five assists and two rebounds.
- Freshman Ethan Okwuosa (No. Haven, Conn.) netted eight points (3-6 FG, 2-4 3-FG) and grabbed three boards.
- Brathwaite chipped in five points (2-4 FG, 1-3 3-FG).
- Sophomore Noah Kamba (Lynn, Mass.) added two points (1-3 FG), four assists and three rebounds.
- SNHU outshot Bloomfield, 46 percent (29-63) to 39.1 percent (25-64), including 35.5 percent (11-31) to 25 percent (4-16) from beyond the arc, and 71.4 percent (5-7) to 43.8 percent (7-16) from the stripe.
- SNHU won the glass (45-36) and submitted a better assist-to-turnover ratio (17/12-9/9), while the Bears scored more points off turnovers (16-12) and second chance points (13-7), and received more bench scoring (23-17). The battle of the paint was even (26-26).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire is 2-0 for the sixth straight season.
