Casagrande Second After Opening Round of NE10 Championship

Senior Anna Casagrande (Pelham, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team carded a 4-over 76 Saturday to place second after the first round of the Northeast-10 Championship at Beaver Meadow Golf Club.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
  • Casagrande is in second place on the individual leaderboard and just two shots back of the front runner.
  • Junior Gabby Thomas (Johnstown, Ohio) turned in a 79 and is tied for seventh.
NOTES
  • Casagrande collected a round-high three birdies. Thomas had a pair of birdies, as well as the round's only eagle.
  • The College of Saint Rose's Erika Fuentes is leading the way with a 2-over 74.
  • While the Penmen are not competing as a team, Franklin Pierce University is in first place by 19 shots with a 314.
  • The NE10 Championship is made up of 33 golfers from eight different institutions.
