Senior Maddy Barone (Halifax, Mass.) struck out 10 in a complete-game, 5-3 win over Le Moyne in the opener of the doubleheader. Junior Emily Critch (Halifax, Mass.) hit one of three homers for the team in a 14-4 win to complete the Tuesday sweep of the Dolphins.
KEY MOMENTS - GAME 1
- Senior Maddy Barone (Halifax, Mass.) went the distance in this one, allowing three runs on three hits. She struck out a season-high 10 batters.
- Barone and senior Logan Filo-Loos (Dudley, Mass.) put together a pair of doubles to tie the game at 1-1 in the second inning.
- The Penmen won the game with four runs on two hits in the top of the sixth inning, sending ten batters to the plate.Â
- Freshman Abi Gray (Litchfield, N.H.) had the only RBI hit in the frame. It was her first career RBI.
- Le Moyne designated player Cassidy Barrett hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the final 5-3.
KEY MOMENTS - GAME 2
- Junior Olivia Strasser (Rutland, Mass.) and sophomore Chloe Griffin (Scarborough, Maine) combined to win the second game.Â
- Gray hit a three-run homer in the top of the first inning as SNHU opened a 4-0 lead.Â
- The Dolphins battled back to tie the game. Barrett's second homer of the day made it 4-4 in the bottom of the third inning.
- For the first time on the trip, SNHU's bats exploded for ten unanswered runs after that.
- Junior Shay Sauvageau (Griswold, Conn.) broke the tie with a solo shot to lead off the fifth inning. Gray and junior Jackie Gavin (East Bridgewater, Mass.) added RBI singles in the frame to make it 7-4.
- SNHU extended the lead to 11-4 with four runs in the top sixth inning, which included another hit (double) for Gray. She finished with five RBI in contest.
- Junior Emily Critch (Halifax, Mass.) ripped her first home run of the season, a three-run shot in the seventh inning.Â
NOTES
- SNHU is now 5-3 on the Florida trip. Â
- The Penmen and Dolphins met once last season in a non-conference game in Clermont, Fla. Le Moyne won that game 5-4 in eight innings.Â
- Southern New Hampshire is led by Sauvageau and Gray, both hitting .333.Â
- Chloe Griffin (1-0) has appeared in four games as a pitcher in her SNHU career, and has won three times.

- The Penmen play a doubleheader at Florida Tech on Wednesday in Melbourne, Fla. The first game starts at 1 p.m.
