Freshman George Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.) scored a pair of goals and sophomore Cole Stewart (Alpharetta, Ga.) added the game-winner in SNHU's 4-3 win over Franklin Pierce Saturday night.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- SNHU freshman Matt Monreal (Wauwatosa, Wisc.) opened the scoring at 27 seconds of the first period when he banged home his own rebound on top of the crease.
- Thurston followed with his team-leading 10th and 11th goals to make it 3-0 in the first period.
- Thurston scored at 6:41 while set-up by junior Kyle Galloway (Sugar Hill, Ga.) and freshman Joe Biddle (Andover, Mass.) at 6:41.

The final goal of the first period, at 10:47, was a power-play goal for Thurston, putting home a rebound of a shot by freshman
James Nash (Hampton, N.H.). Galloway also had a hand in that goal.
- The Ravens battled back to tie with three power-play goals in the second period, two scored by James Morrissey, who also set up Chris Stevenson at 18:19 to make it 3-3.
- Stewart scored the game-winner, another power-play goal, at 19:42 of the second period with a one-timer from the left circle. Assists went to sophomore Travis Quigley (North Babylon, N.Y.) and sophomore Phil Heisse (Overland Park, Kan.).
NOTES
- Senior Kurt Gutting (Weymouth, Mass.) made 29 saves on 32 shots to earn the win.
- SNHU won two of the three meetings with the Ravens to complete the season series. The Ravens had won 3-2 in overtime on Friday night at The Ice Den.
- Franklin Pierce had a 32-30 shot advantage. The Ravens went 3-for-4 on the power-play, while the Penmen were 2-for-4.
