GOFFSTOWN, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team opened spring Northeast-10 Conference action with an 8-1 win over Saint Michael's College Friday evening at the Allard Center. The Penmen upped their record to 3-4 and 3-1 in the NE-10, while the Purple Knights are 0-3 and 0-2 in the league.
The Penmen jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles and took five of six singles matches.
Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) and Emerson Kelby (Oneonta, N.Y.), the fourth-ranked doubles team in the ITA East Region rankings, improved to 4-0 with an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles. Aubron, who is No. 19 in singles in the region, was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 1 singles.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday evening when it hosts Stonehill College in a 6:00 match at the Allard Center.
