Box Score EASTON, Mass. – Senior Pierre Omanga (Paris, France) scored twice, including the game-winner in double overtime, as No. 20 Southern New Hampshire University rallied past Stonehill College for a 2-1 Northeast-10 men's soccer victory Wednesday afternoon at Skyhawk Field. The Penmen won their seventh in a row to improve to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in NE-10 play, while the Skyhawks are now 3-5 and 2-3 in the league.
Omanga, who has scored five goals in SNHU's last three games, notched the game-winner at the game's 104:29, scoring on assists by Sebastian Stezewski (New Britain, Conn.) and Jonathan Lupinelli (Mont de Marsan, France). It marked the third game-winning goal of the season for Omanga, giving the Penmen their second straight overtime triumph.
After a scoreless first half, Stonehill took a 1-0 lead in the 55th minute on a 25-yard blast off the foot of Drew Montano. Omanga came up with the equalizer in the 62nd minute, heading home a loose ball from five yards out in the penalty area.
Southern New Hampshire carried play much of the afternoon, outshooting the hosts 24-4. Dom DiMaggio (Rome, N.Y.) made a pair of saves for the Penmen, while Skyhawk keeper Adam Colella turned aside six shots. SNHU also held an 11-4 corner kick advantage for the game.
SNHU returns to action Saturday when it hosts American International College in a 4:00 contest at Larkin Field.
