FOXBORO, Mass.—Bob Bryant (Nashua, N.H.) tallied a goal and two assists to lead the Southern New Hampshire University ice hockey team to a 5-5 overtime tie against the Skyhawks of Stonehill College on Tuesday evening. With the tie, the Penmen see their record set to 2-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action, while the Skyhawks set their record at 2-9-1 overall and 1-1-1 in NE-10 action.
The Skyhawks would take a 3-0 lead after first period goals from Sean McNeil, Angelo Todesca, and Mario Ranalli. Pat Greene would extend the lead to 4-0 in favor of Stonehill with 12:55 remaining in the second period. The Penmen would answer with a power play goal by Brandon Bradley (Wichita, Kansas) in the 15th minute of the second frame. Bryant and William Toomey (Reading, Mass.) assisted on the goal.
Southern New Hampshire would continue to rally in the third period, as Frank O'Connor (Arlington, Mass.) and Brandon Sheehan (Bedford, Mass.) tallied goals to bring the Penmen within one. Tyler Gordon would add the final Stonehill goal to give the Skyhawks the 5-3 advantage, but Neil Adams (Gardner, Mass.) and Bryant added goals to even the game at 5-5. The two teams remained scoreless in the five minute overtime period.
John Carbonneau (Medford, Mass.) played in net for the Penmen and recorded 23 saves. Derek Chapdelaine went the distance for the Skyhawks and totaled 20 saves.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Thursday, December 16, hosting Johnson and Wales at 7:30 p.m.
