MANSFIELD, Mass. – Junior Irem Bat (Istanbul, Turkey) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team on Wednesday, as the league office announced its end-of-the-year honors.
Bat played all 23 matches and 80 of 82 sets during her first season with the Penmen, as she recorded 251 kills (3.14 k/s) on .202 hitting, while tallying 23 service aces (0.29 sa/s), 278 digs (3.35 d/s) and 43 blocks (0.54 b/s). Bat, who helped the Penmen earn their fourth NE10 Championship berth and first since 2015, ranks 11th in the league in kills per set and 14th in digs per set.
Bat, the Oct. 2 NE10 Player of the Week, reached double digits in kills on 13 occasions and racked up 11 double-doubles. She rattled off a career-high 24 kills in a five-set win against Pace University on Oct. 13 and collected a career-best 21 digs in a 3-0 victory at Saint Michael's College on Sept. 27.
