MANSFIELD, Mass. – Junior Irem Bat (Istanbul, Turkey) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team was selected as the Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 30, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Bat recorded 31 kills (5.17 k/s) on .338 hitting, 27 digs (4.50 d/s), three blocks (0.50 b/s) and a pair of service aces (0.33 sa/s) during a 2-0 week for the Penmen. Bat registered a career-best 18 kills on .382 hitting, to go with six digs, two blocks and an ace in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Franklin Pierce University. Bat added 13 kills (.290) and a career-high 21 digs in Thursday's 3-0 victory at Saint Michael's College.
Bat ranks ninth in the league in kills per set (3.16) and 12th in digs per set (3.29).
Bat and the Penmen were scheduled to be back in action Tuesday, Oct. 2 (7 p.m.) when they took on Stonehill College, but that match has been postponed.
