Patterson Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

COSIDA RELEASE

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior Allyson Patterson (Seekonk, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team was recently chosen for the Academic All-District Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Patterson, a secondary mathematics major with a 3.75 GPA, was recognized with a Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team selection. Patterson, the Oct. 21 NE10 Player of the Week, has started all 16 contests and racked up 25 points on 10 goals and five assists. The team-leader in goals and points, Patterson has registered at least one point in 13 matches this season, including nine straight from Sept. 18-Oct. 19. Patterson, who received an All-Rookie nod in 2017, is tied for third in the league in both goal and points, and tied for seventh in assists.

The Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Academic All-America® ballot, with Academic All-America® teams announced in early December.

The Academic All-District® teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams.

The 10-6-1 Penmen, who earned the No. 5 seed in the Northeast-10 Championship, but bowed out in the first round, are awaiting word on a potential at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament.
