Tyler McLaren Named Northeast-10 Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

EASTON, Mass. – Freshman Tyler McLaren (Pepperrell, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's cross country team was named the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week Tuesday afternoon.

McLaren set a new SNHU 8K record on Saturday, posting a time of 26:07 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. The freshman bested the previous program benchmark by 34 seconds, which was set by Andrew Brown in 2008. McLaren's efforts helped lead the Penmen to a top-10 finish.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Oct. 4 when it travels to Bethlehem, Pa. to compete in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University.
