Graduate goalkeeper Nick Zucco (Ludlow, Mass.) made six saves, but Alejandro Penzini's goal in the 84th minute lifted 11th-ranked Adelphi University to Saturday evening's 1-0 victory over the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team at Larkin Field.

In another physical contest for the Penmen, Adelphi held a 7-2 advantage in shots in the opening half, including 6-1 in shots on goal. Southern New Hampshire seemingly had a chance to go up, 1-0, in the 26th minute, but a goal from senior Enzo Giuliani (Toulouse, France) was called back as a linesman whistled for a hand-ball.

SNHU tilted the tables in the second half, putting pressure on the Panthers with a 3-0 advantage in shots on frame. It was Adelphi, however, that notched the first goal of the night as Jordan Daniel's service from the right flank, into the middle of the box, was headed into the left side of the net by Alejandro Penzini with just 6:36 to play in regulation.

Southern New Hampshire had a pair of chances on a flurry of activity in the final minute, but a shot from freshman Louka Masset (Paris, France) was saved by Adelphi goalkeeper Spenser Powell with 14 seconds left to thwart the last of the opportunities.

-The loss halted Southern New Hampshire's three-game unbeaten streak.
-The defeat also snapped an 11-match home winning streak dating back to last season and is just the second loss for the Penmen in their last 48 home matches.
-SNHU is now 66-6-5 (.888) over its last 77 matches dating back to the beginning of the 2013 National Championship season, while it is unbeaten in 58 of its last 63 (56-5-2; .905) at home.
-Adelphi outshot Southern New Hampshire, 12-7, and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
-Powell stopped all four shots he faced for the Panthers.
