  • Volleyball Halves Tri-Match with Millersville, Dominican (N.Y.)

    Freshman Juliana Pacini (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and senior Baylee Lippincott (Phoenix, Ariz.) each recorded nine kills to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Dominican (N.Y.) College, as it salvaged a tri-match split Friday at Dominican's Hennessy Center. The Penmen opened with a 25-21, 25-23, 25-16 loss to Millersville University, before sweeping past the Chargers, 25-15, 25-12, 25-15.

    MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior Willem van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was selected as the Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 16, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
  • van Biezens Meet in Finals of ITA East Regional Championship; Willem Comes Away Victorious

    FLUSHING, N.Y. - Senior Willem van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) defeated his brother, fellow senior Bas van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) after they each ran through five opponents to make the singles bracket finals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional Championship on Monday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Bas was nearly knocked out in the quarterfinals against the No. 6 seed, but rallied from down 8-2 to win the third-set tiebreaker, 12-10. That was one round after he toppled the No. 1 seed in a match that needed three different tiebreakers to be settled.
  • Hubickova Makes Run to Finals of ITA East Regional Championship Singles Bracket

    FLUSHING, N.Y. - Freshman Magdalena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Republic), in her first ever Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional Championship, went 5-0, including three tie-break victories, to roll into the main singles bracket finals, where she eventually fell in a closely-contested third set. On the doubles side, Hubickova teamed with sophomore Alexxa Etienne (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) to win four matches, before bowing out in the semifinals.
  • No. 9 Field Hockey Blanks Saint Michael’s for Fourth-Straight Win

    Lisa Hagel and Meaghan Wile each registered second-half goals while Melanie Rennie stopped each of the three shots to come her way Tuesday as the ninth-ranked Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team picked up a 2-0 victory over Saint Michael’s College in Northeast-10 action.
  • No. 9 Field Hockey Garners First-Ever National Ranking by NFHCA

    The Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team earned its first national ranking in program history on Tuesday, as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released its first Division II Coaches Poll of the season. The Penmen checked in at No. 9 after receiving 32 points.
  • Servais, Hagel Claim NE10 Field Hockey Weekly Honors

    Hélène Servais and Lisa Hagel of the ninth-ranked Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team earned weekly recognition from the Northeast-10 Conference on Tuesday as the league announced its award recipients. Servais was named the NE10 Player of the Week while Hagel was tabbed the conference’s Rookie of the Week.

    Graduate student Sami Gliguem (Paris, France) found the back of the net with just 6:42 to play in regulation, as he snapped a tie to send the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory against the University of Bridgeport on Saturday night at Knights Field.

    Freshman Juliana Pacini (Sao Paulo, Brazil) reached career bests with 21 kills and 17 digs to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team to a five-set victory over Valdosta State University in the opener Saturday, as the Penmen split a pair of matches on the final day of their Florida trip at Nova Southeastern University's Rick Case Arena. The Penmen pulled out a 21-25, 25-18, 25-14, 23-25, 15-9 victory against VSU, before WSC rolled, 25-17, 25-11, 25-9 in the second match.
  • Offense Keeps Rolling, as Field Hockey Opens NE10 Play with 5-1 Win Against Mercy

    Senior Irem Bat (Istanbul, Turkey) posted 22 kills and 17 digs, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team began its Florida trip with a pair of losses Friday to Grand Valley State University and host Nova Southeastern University at Rick Case Arena. The Penmen suffered a heartbreaker against GVSU, 22-25, 22-25, 25-20, 28-26, 15-11, in the opener, before falling to NSU, 25-27, 25-17, 25-19, 25-15.
