Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll Announced, SNHU Selected 12th

SOUTH EASTON, Mass.—The Southern New Hampshire University volleyball program was selected to finish in 12th out of 16 teams in the Northeast-10 Conference for the 2011 season.  The announcement was released by the NE-10 office on Friday afternoon.  The University of New Haven has been selected to repeat as the regular season champions in 2011 and received 11 first-place votes.  

Other schools receiving first-place votes include Pace, picked to finish second, with three first-place votes, and American International in the third slot with one first-place vote.  Adelpi in 4th place and Bentley in 5th place, with one first-place vote, round out the top five.  

Southern New Hampshire returns eight players from last year's team that finished 10-14 overall and 6-9 in Northeast-10 Conference play.  In addition, the Penmen also welcome four newcomers to the program.

Southern New Hampshire opens its season on Saturday, September 3, travelling to Nyack College for a 3:00 p.m. matchup.  The Penmen will open action at home on Tuesday, September 6 when they host Assumption College in non-conference action at 7:30 p.m. in the SNHU Fieldhouse.
