Teixeira Repeats as Daktronics All-Region Selection

BRIDGEPORT, Conn.—Senior Ariel Teixeira (Warren, R.I.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team has been named to the 2011 Daktronics All-East Region Second Team.  Announced on Tuesday, Teixeira is one of 26 student-athletes on the All-Region squad which is voted on by sports information directors at NCAA Division II institutions that are members of the Central Atlantic Collegiate, East Coast and Northeast-10 Conferences.

It marks the third time Teixeira has earned All-Region honors after being named to the First Team in her sophomore and junior seasons. 

Teixeira, a recent unanimous Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team recipient, led the Northeast-10 Conference in assists this season with 12.  In addition, she scored six goals this season to lead the Penmen in points with 23. She became just the third player in program history be a four-time NE-10 All-Conference recipient, and her 25 career goals and 25 career assists rank her eighth all-time in assists and 10th in career points.
