Kate Mullen was named the second coach in SNHU women's lacrosse program history on June 1, 2009

In Mullen's first season, she guided the Penmen to their fifth consecutive Northeast-10 semifinal appearance as SNHU finished the season with a 9-8 record.  The Penmen made their sixth straight NE-10 tournament appearance in 2011, also finishing 9-8 overall.

Mullen served as head women's lacrosse coach at Endicott College in Beverly, Mass. from 2006-2008.  Over her three seasons, she led the Gulls to a record of 45-15, including a 24-3 mark in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.  During Mullen's tenure, Endicott captured three straight TCCC championships and earned three consecutive berths to the NCAA Division III tournament.  Mullen was named the conference Coach of the Year in 2008 and also served on the All-America selection committee in 2007 and 2008.  Mullen also worked in Endicott's Office of Admission.

A 2002 graduate of Goucher College in Towson, Md., Mullen was a four-year starter for the Gopher women's lacrosse team.  A Capital Athletic Conference All-Conference selection, Mullen led Goucher in assists and points as a senior and was a part of an offense that led Division III in offense in 2001.  A team captain in 2000, she was nominated for All-Region honors and to play in the North/South All-Star game as a senior.

Following graduation, Mullen was named lacrosse specialist at Queen Anne's School in Caversham, England.  She led the school's U15 team to the 2003 National Schools Championship, and also taught physical education.  Mullen has also served as an instructor at Peak Performance Goalie School.

Maura Murphy, a former standout with the SNHU women’s lacrosse program, is entering her third season as an assistant coach.

A five-year member of the Penmen (she redshirted the 2008 season due to injury), Murphy wrapped up her career in 2010 ranked fourth in career points (197), third in career goals (141) and fifth in career assists (56).  A two-year captain, Murphy led SNHU in scoring in each of her first two seasons and helped lead the Penmen to four Northeast-10 semifinal appearances and a championship game appearance in 2009 while twice earning NE-10 All-Tournament honors.  In her final year she won the SNHU Athletic Department’s Female Sportsmanship Award and was named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic Team.

A native of Candia, N.H., Murphy was a lacrosse standout at Pinkerton Academy.  In four seasons with the Astros, she scored a school-record 229 goals and was a three-year captain.  A four-time All-State selection, Murphy was also a two-time high school All-American.  She led Pinkerton to a Division I state title in 2004.

Murphy served as an assistant coach at Pinkerton in 2008 alongside her father, Bryon Murphy, and also coached the Average Janes club team that year.  She has also worked at summer camps at SNHU.

Murphy graduated with a bachelors' degree in Child Development in 2009 and wrapped up her master's in General Special Education at SNHU in December, 2011.

Bob Slater was named an assistant coach for the SNHU women's lacrosse program in the summer of 2012.

Slater comes to the Penmen program after a highly successful seven-year stint as the girls varsity lacrosse coach at Londonderry (N.H.) HS from 2006-12.  Over that time he compiled a record of 108-25-1 and guided the Lancers to six state semifinal appearances, four championship game appearances and three Division I championships from 2009-11.  Londonderry won 59 straight games against New Hampshire opponents and 51 straight games overall, both records, while the program was ranked No. 21 in the country by U.S. Lacrosse in 2011.  Over 30 players went on to play collegiately.

Prior to taking over the girls program, Slater spent five years as an assistant coach with the Lancer boys varsity program.  He has also coached at the club level with Granite State Elite.

Slater resides in Londonderry with wife Cindy.  The couple has three adult children, Bob, Jr., Jeff and Jessica.
