May’s First Team Selection Underscores Women’s Golf All-Conference Accolades

NE10 RELEASE

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Hannah May (Phoenix, Ariz.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team was selected as a Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team honoree and was joined by senior Morgan Mitchell (Charlton, Mass.), who was a Third Teamer, as the league office announced its end-of-the-season awards on Monday.

Across 23 rounds over 11 events, May led the team with a stroke average of 80.5. May, who finished in the top 10 five times, including three top-five showings, recorded the third best round in program history with a 75 at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational (Sept. 23), where she placed third. May tied for fourth at the Northeast-10 Championship (Oct. 15) with a two-round total of 159 and also tied for third at the Penmen Spring Invitational to cap the season. May was a two-time NE10 Rookie of the Week (Sept. 26, Oct. 24) during the year.

Mitchell ranked second on the team with an 83.6 average over 21 rounds and 10 events. She claimed a pair of top-10 finishes, including a top-five showing when she placed fourth at the Penmen Columbus Day Intercollegiate (Oct. 7). Mitchell sent a new school record on the first day of that tournament by carding a 74, before shattering that mark with the program's first sub-par round – a 1-under 71 – at the Sunoco Campbell Oil Classic (March 25).
