MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team was named the Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 25, the conference office announced Monday.
Lorenzen posted 22.0 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, while shooting 51.3 percent (20-39) from the field and 80 percent (4-5) from the line, during a 2-0 week for the Penmen. Lorenzen began the week with a bang, pouring in a career-high 31 points (14-28 FG, 3-3 FT), while matching her career best with 16 rebounds and handing out three assists, in a 59-55 victory at Merrimack College on Tuesday. Lorenzen followed up that effort with 13 points (6-11 FG, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds and three helpers in just under 24 minutes of Sunday's 85-51 win over Chestnut Hill College.
Lorenzen is averaging 20.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.0 steals per contest this season, while shooting 55.9 percent from the floor and 90.5 percent from the stripe. Through the first six games of the year, she leads the league in field goals made (52) and ranks second in scoring, third in free throw percentage, and fourth in rebounding, while sitting inside the top 10 in assists per game, steals per contest and field goal percentage.
Lorenzen and the 6-0 Penmen are back in action Wednesday, Nov. 28 (5:30 p.m.) when they play host to crosstown-rival Saint Anselm College at the Stan Spirou Field House in a game that will air on WGIR 610-AM.
