MANSFIELD, Mass. – Junior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team was tabbed for the Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team on Tuesday, as the conference office announced its end-of-the-year awards.
Lorenzen, who continues her upward career progression following an All-Rookie pick in 2016 and a Third Team nod last season, started all 29 games this year and averaged 17.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game, while shooting 47.5 percent (182-383) from the field and 82.5 percent (132-160) from the stripe.
Lorenzen, who duplicated her career output with 12 double-doubles during the season, reached double figures in points 25 times and scored 20 or more points nine times, including a season-high 28 in a win against Pace on Jan. 3.
The Nov. 27 and Jan. 8 NE10 Player of the Week ranked second in the league in free throws made, third in both scoring and field goals made, sixth in rebounding, seventh in free throw percentage and ninth in field goal percentage.
Lorenzen is just as stellar in the classroom, earning CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors last week.
Lorenzen and the Penmen finished the season with a 17-12 record, including 12-9 in the NE10 – with both win columns serving as the highest since the 2011-12 campaign. The team earned the No. 4 seed in the NE10 Northeast Division – its first NE10 postseason berth since 2012 – and hosted a postseason game for the first time ever. After capturing the program's first NE10 Championship win since 2011, the Penmen bowed out just shy of their first semifinal appearance.
