MANSFIELD, Mass. – Junior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team was selected as the Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 7, the league office announced Monday.
Lorenzen posted 24.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 62.1 percent (18-29) from the field and 92.3 percent (12-13) from the line, during a 2-0 week for the Penmen. Lorenzen had quite the performance Wednesday, pouring in 28 points (10-20 FG, 8-9 FT), including the 1,000th of her career, pulling down a career-best 16 rebounds and dishing two assists in a 62-49 win against Pace University. Lorenzen then notched another double-double with 20 points (8-9 FG, 4-4 FT) and 10 boards in a 64-53 victory at Southern Connecticut State University.
Lorenzen currently leads the league in free throws made (88), ranks second in scoring (19.4 ppg), third in rebounding (10.4), field goals made (100) and free throw percentage (.863), and sixth in field goal percentage (.505).
Lorenzen and the Penmen return to action Tuesday, Jan. 9 (5:30 p.m.) when they take on Le Moyne College at the SNHU Fieldhouse in a game that will air live on WGIR 610-AM.
