The Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team embarks on a 10-day trip to Spain and Italy, where it will play three games against international competition and see multiple sites in the two countries. Rising senior Madi Rowan (Aliquippa, Pa.) and rising junior Mimi MacLeod (Hampton Falls, N.H.) will provide first person accounts on the trip with daily blog entries.

Sadly, we've reached the end of our trip. Today marked our last full day in Europe. The trip flew by and it's amazing to think of all the things we've seen these past 10 days. We started our day bright and early with an hour drive to the Príncipe Pallavicini Vineyard on the outskirts of Rome. We passed through acres of grapes, along with fields of olive trees to get to the housing of where the various aged wines are produced and stored. We walked through the property and explored the old caves and cellars that date back thousands of years, and are used to age the wines.
After we explored the Vineyard, we made our way back to the city of Rome to do some final shopping. Many members of our team found a quaint leather store to get friends, family and themselves genuine handmade leather products that could get stamped with custom initials, while others on the team visited a four-story clothing store. After a few hours of shopping, we hopped back on the metro to get ready at the hotel for dinner.
Our last dinner together was about an hour from the hotel in a beautiful setting of just outside a 2,000-year old castle. We ate outside and were served traditional foods such as pasta, pork, salad and a strawberry custard for dessert. As the sun set and dinner came to a close, everyone reflected on how fast our trip seemed, but also on the amazing memories we made together on our European adventure.
