THE MATCHUP: The Penmen host the University of New Haven Saturday for an NE-10 Conference doubleheader with games starting at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.

THE PENMEN: Southern New Hampshire split with No. 18 Southern Connecticut State University Friday night in NE-10 Conference play with scores of 0-1 and 6-5...the Penmen are led offensively by freshman Ali Maloof who is batting .368 with a team-high 35 hits and 16 runs...junior Kelsea Cheney leads the team in home runs and notched her seventh on the season in the win last night...she is batting .337 with 18 RBIs...junior Nikki Newell has been a contributing factor off the bench while pinch hitting in Friday night's game she hit an RBI double...she has totaled 17 RBIs on the season in just 56 at bats...Maloof leads the Penmen in the circle with a 2.84 ERA in 93.2 innings pitched...she has allowed 88 hits, 50 runs, and has struck out 92 batters...she is currently ranked third in the NE-10 in strikeouts...Dolores Mattice is posting a 2.91 ERA with 74 strikeouts and only giving up 69 hits and 36 runs for a team-best 7-3 record in the circle...earning her first save of the season, Rebecca Sherwood has a 2.85 ERA in 32 innings pitched...the pitching staff has a 2.94 ERA combined while opponents are at 3.21.

THE CHARGERS: New Haven is coming off of an NE-10 sweep against Saint Anselm Friday afternoon...they won both games with a 2-1 score...Shannon Angehr is leading the Chargers offensively while batting .390 with a team high 39 hits, ten doubles, two triples, and two home runs...Lucy Francisco is batting .366 with 37 hits and 19 runs...the Chargers are batting .279 as a team while opponents are batting .232 against them...Alana Wesche leads the Chargers in the circle with a 2.27 ERA, two shutouts, one save, and a team-high 69 strikeouts while posting a 11-6 record on the season...Kelsey Malloy also has two shutouts for New Haven with a 6-7 record allowing 71 hits and 62 runs with 45 strikeouts...the pitching staff averages a 2.60 ERA.
