WESTFIELD, Mass.—The Southern New Hampshire
University men’s cross country team compete at the
Northeast-10 Cross Country Championship at Stanley Park on the
campus of Westfield State University on Sunday morning. The
Penmen posted an average time of 29:51.89 post a
15th-place finish in the eight-kilometer race.
Garrett Hammond (Haverhill, Mass.) led the Penmen with a 28:58.72 and the 115th finish overall. Jason Bays (Cresco, Pa.) trailed by less than a minute, finishing with a final time of 29:15.27. Kevin Coyle (Salem, N.H.) rounded out the top-three for Southern New Hampshire, crossing the finish line with a time of 29:45.82.
Tom Philips (Madison, Conn.) posted a time of 30:24.57 followed by Doug Coulters (Weare, N.H.) at 30:59.27, Tyler Parks (Moultonborough, N.H.) at 31:39.25 and Jason Grotton (China, Maine) at 31:50.95. Matt Gray (Haverhill, Mass.), Michael Brennan (South Easton, Mass.), and Robert Gray (Haverhill, Mass.) rounded out the Penmen finishers.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Sunday, November 6 when it competes at the NCAA East Regional at Franklin Park in Boston. Race time is slated for 2:30 p.m.
