Men's Tennis Falls Short in NCAA First Round to NYIT

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The seventh-seeded Southern New Hampshire men's tennis team was defeated by No. 2 seeded NYIT in an NCAA East Regional first round match Sunday afternoon by a score of 5-1. The Penmen wrapped up their season with a 14-9 overall record and 7-2 in conference action.

After falling behind 2-1 in doubles play, the Bears took the fourth, fifth, and sixth singles matches to secure the win.

Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) earned the lone Penmen point in doubles play while defeating Tomas Lieb and Julian Marcon by a score of 8-5.
