SNHU Men's Soccer - Penmen In The Pros

Rayane Boukemia (2015-2016) - In two seasons with the Penmen, Rayane amassed 42 points on 18 goals and six assists, in 30 career matches. He was chosen as an All-American following a senior year in which he posted a 13-goal, five-assist, 31-point campaign, including the program's first four-goal game in 15 years.

Enzo Giuliani (2015-2016) - Enzo spent two seasons with the Penmen, playing in 25 games, while potting 11 goals and dishing an assist for 23 points. He scored eight times during his senior year, en route to a Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team selection.

    • Scored eight goals in 11 appearances

Dominic Samuel (2012-2015) - Dominic played four seasons for the Penmen, totaling 15 goals and two assists for 32 points, as he started 86 of the 87 matches he started on the back line. Arguably the greatest back in the history of the program, he was a three-time All-American and was chosen as the Northeast-10 Defender of the Year as a senior. He trialled with the New England Revolution following his SNHU career, but was not signed.

Sofiane Tergou (2014-2015) - Sofiane spent two seasons with the Penmen, amassing 13 goals and 21 assists for 47 points. He was named the 2015 Northeast-10 Player of the Year and an NE-10 First Team selection, in addition to garnering selections to the NSCAA All-America and All-East Region First Team, CCA All-America Third Team and CCA All-East Region First Team.

    • Tallied 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points in 17 games

    • Tallied 2 goals and 1 assist for 5 points in 42 games

Jose “Sito” Seoane (2014) – Seoane spent just one season with the Penmen in which he tallied 10 goals and 3 assists in just 10 games.  He then had his season end early after suffering a knee injury.  When Seoane was in the lineup he was one of the most dangerous players the Penmen have ever had averaging a goal a game.

    • Tallied 2 goals in 20 games

Callum Williams (2013-2014) – The highly talented center back enjoyed a successful 2 years at SNHU, being named Daktronics first team all-American, Northeast10 Conference first team selection. Cal was also voted the Northeast Conference’s Defender (2013) and Player of the year (2014) in his only two seasons with the Penmen.  Cal finished his career with 4 goals, 4 assists, and 42 caps starting in every game that he appeared in.  Williams was also an impactful force when the penmen won the program’s second national championship in 2013.

    • Named player of the year for KA in the 2015 season
    • Logged over 2500 minutes in 33 matches
  • KA Akureyri (Icelandic Premier League 2017-present)
    • Started all 20 matches he played in on the back line, during the club's first season in Iceland's top league

Brian Grisell (2014) – Although Brian only played one season with the Penmen he had a successful year scoring 5 goals and adding another 7 assists in just 17 games.  Brian was a key contributor in the Penmen’s NE-10 championship run.  In his only season at SNHU Brian won a Northeast 10 regular season and postseason title.

    • Signed with the team in April 2015
 

Pierre Omanga (2013) – Pierre had an extremely impactful season with the Penmen. During his 1 year at SNHU Pierre scored 21 goals with 3 assists for a total of 45 points. He helped guide the Penmen to the program’s 2nd ever National Championship where he scored the game winning goal. Pierre was named the NSCAA Division II National Player of the Year; other accolades included the Most Outstanding Offensive player in the NCAA tournament and the Northeast 10 tournament, a NSCAA and Daktronics First-team All-American, and the Northeast10 Player of the Year. Pierre’s strong play and great goal scoring record caused teams from Major League Soccer to take notice. He was ultimately drafted by the New England Revolution in the 3rd round of the MLS Super draft.

Kenny Doublette (2012-2014) – Kenny played three seasons in a Penmen uniform, registering 23 goals and 13 assists for 59 appoints in 66 matches. He erupted for 35 points on 15 goals and five assists as a senior, en route to First Team All-Conference and All-Region selections.

    • Signed with the club for the 2016 campaign
   Chris Tsonis (2009-2012) - Chris finished his SNHU career 9th all-time in goals scored with 40, 5th in career games played with 83. During his career he scored 40 goals with 9 assists for 89 points. He was a Daktronics 2nd team All-American (2012), Daktronics East Region Co-Player of the Year(2012), NSCAA First-team All-Region (2011/2012), and a two  time Northeast 10 First team All-Conference (2011/2012) over his 4 years at Southern New Hampshire.

    • Played in 22 matches with one goal
  Jordan Branco (2010-2012) – During his time at SNHU Jordan was named a Capital One 2nd Team All-American (2011/2012), Northeast 10 2nd and 3rd team All-Conference member (2012/2011), as well as a NSCAA Third Team All-Region selection. He finished his career with 17 goals and 18 assists in 59 games for a total of 52 points. In his final season he led the Penmen in assists with 9 as the team made it to the East Region final.

Ruben Resendes (2009-2012) – Rueben finished his SNHU career as the program’s all-time leader in games played. He was an NSCAA Second Team All-American selection (2012), NSCAA First and second Team All-Region selection (2012,2009), Daktronics All-America Honorable Mention (2012), Daktronics First Team All-Region (2011), Northeast 10 First Team All-Conference (2011/2012), as well as the Northeast 10 Freshmen of the Year in 2009.

    • Started 11 of 12 appearances and tallied 3 assists

Joey Kapinos (2008-2011) – During his time at SNHU Joey was a GK for the Penmen who made 31 appearances, had 12 career shutouts, and recorded a .40 GAA, which is a record low for any SNHU goalkeeper in the program’s history. Joey garnered NSCAA 2nd team All-Region honors in 2010, and was selected to compete in the NEISL All-Star Game in 2011.

    • Has compiled a record of 23-5, made 419 saves, with an average save percentage of 71%
  • Team USA (WMF World Cup 2014)
    • Defeated Mexico 5-3 in the championship game 
  • Rochester Lancers (MASL 2014- Present)
    • Finished his first season with a record of 6-5 making 227 saves
  • Cedar Rapids Rampage (MASL 2015-2016)
    • Recorded 371 saves and a .723 save mark in 19 games
  • Ontario Fury (MASL 2016-present)
    • Finished 12-7 with 239 saves, a 6.29 GAA and .666 save percentage

Jayme Kapinos (2008-2011) – Jayme was a regular face in the backline of SNHU, finishing with 86 career caps for the Penmen.  He finished his career with 1 goal and 11 assists, helping the Penmen to a record of 59 wins, 14 losses and 13 ties.  Jayme was a key contributor helping the Penmen win a Northeast10 conference championship, and reach the NCAA playoffs every year.

    • Finished the season with 5 points and 16 blocks

    • Notched 1 goal and 4 assists for five points, as well as 31 blocks, in 20 games
  • Ontario Fury (MASL 2016-present)
    • Recorded 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in 20 matches

  

Gabe Mercier (2005-2008) – During his time at SNHU Gabe played in 54 games where he scored 5 goals and 5 assists for 15 points including 2 game-winning goals from his holding midfield role. He garnered 2nd Team All Northeast 10 honors as a senior in 2008.

    • Made 5 appearances for the Pioneers in 2009

    • Was invited for a month long trial with the 1st team
 

Preston Burpo (1992-1995) – Preston, in 60 career SNHU appearances, recorded 1.03 goals-against average and posted 17 shutouts, tied for eighth in program history.  He earned NSCAA Second Team All-Region honors as a sophomore, and the team was 64-12-5 over his four years. He was the first Penman to earn All-Region honors in 1992. He is currently on staff with DC United of Major League Soccer.

    • Made 143 appearances with 38 shutouts, 631 saves, and a GAA of 1.19.
    • Sounders' leader in several all-time goalkeeper statistics including games played (143), saves (631) and minutes (12,846)
  • Chivas USA (Major League Soccer 2006-2007)
    • Made 22 appearances recording 6 shutouts, and a GAA of 1.11.
  • Colorado Rapids (Major League Soccer 2008-2009)
    • Made 24 appearances recording 4 shutouts, and a GAA of 1.65.
  • New England Revolution (Major League Soccer 2010)
    • Made 11 appearances recording 2 shutouts
 

Altimont “Freddie” Butler (1992-1993) – Freddie was a two-year member of the men's soccer team (1992-93)...as the team's leading scorer in 1992 and 1993, he led the program to a 35-5-3 record and one NCAA Tournament appearance. He was a two-time first-team National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America selection, scored 25 goals, and established the school-record for most points in a season (62) as a senior in 1993. Freddie scored 44 goals in 42 career games and ranks seventh in career points (106) among SNHU's all-time leaders.

    • Appeared in 14 games for the Clash scoring 2 goals

    • Appeared in 1 game scoring 1 goal before he left the team to concentrate on World Cup qualifications
