KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Junior Alex Satrustegui (Pamplona, Spain), and sophomores Louka Masset (Paris France) and Romain Daniellou (Brest, France), of the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team were recently named to the United Soccer Coaches East All-Region Team.
Satrustegui, who garnered both Northeast-10 All-Conference and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team honors earlier in the month, was selected to the Second Team. Satrustegui registered 34 points on 15 goals and four assists, as he started all 17 matches for the 11-3-3 Penmen. He ranked second in the league in both goals and points, as well as fourth in game-winning tallies (4). Satrustegui found the back of the net in 13 different matches, including a season-high five straight from Oct. 7-Oct. 21.
Masset, who joined Satrustegui on the NE10 and D2CCA All-Region First Team, also joined him on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team. Masset started 14 of 15 matches he played in, scoring six goals for 12 points. Masset had a flair for the dramatic, as five of his six goals were either game winners or equalizers in the 70th minute or later. He also contributed to a back line that ranked fourth in the league in goals-against average (0.95) and goals allowed (17).
Daniellou, a Third Team selection, was also an NE10 Second Team pick. In 16 matches, including 15 starts, Daniellou produced 14 points on three goals and a team-best eight assists. Daniellou, who led the league in assists and ranked top 20 in points, notched one game-winning goal and a pair of game-winning helpers.
