Jordan Branco Joins Men's Soccer Program

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer coach Marc Hubbard announced recently that Jordan Branco (Norton, Mass.), a transfer from the University of Connecticut, has enrolled at SNHU and joined the Penmen men's soccer program.  Branco will train with the team in the spring and will have three years of eligibility remaining starting in the fall of 2010.

"We are excited that Jordan is able to join us mid-year.  It will give him a better opportunity to assimilate into our program and culture," explains Hubbard.

Branco spent two seasons with the Huskies, redshirting the 2008 season.  In 2009 UConn captured the Big East regular season title and finished with an 11-4-4 record.  He was a four-year letterwinner at Brockton HS, where he garnered NSCAA High School All-America honors as a senior after totaling 16 goals and 16 assists for the Boxers.  A two-year captain, Branco was the Boston Globe and Boston Herald Player of the Year, as well as an Enterprise All-Scholastic selection.  Branco also led Brockton to a pair of South sectional finals.

"Jordan is a hard working, technical and versatile player.  However, his attitude is his best attribute.  He is willing to listen to criticism and work hard on his weaknesses," Hubbard says.  "We believe that Jordan has the ability to consistently play to his potential and help us accomplish our goal of winning a national championship."

The Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team finished 14-4-4 overall and advanced to the NCAA Division II quarterfinals for the first time since the 2002 season.  The Penmen captured their second straight Northeast-10 regular season title.
