Men's Lacrosse Entertains No. 3 Dowling on Saturday

THE MATCHUP: The Penmen face their sixth nationally-ranked opponent this year, hosting No. 3 Dowling College in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

THE PENMEN: SNHU dropped a 10-7 loss to Bentley on Tuesday...John Cuozzo, Rob Murray and Jeremy Buckley all scored twice in the loss...Murray leads the team in goals on the season with 15...Murray has also dished out four assists for 19 total points...junior Cuozzo ranks second on the squad in goals with 14 while also dishing out five assists for 19 points...rookie Corey Allen leads the team in the points category this season, totaling 20 points from 10 goals and 10 assists...fellow freshman Buckley has scored 10 times this season and has added two assists for 12 points...junior Ryan Woodford has scored six times and has added two assists for the Penmen for eight total points...he also has a team-best 50 ground balls and also leads the team in caused turnovers with 29...senior goaltender Brendan O'Brien ranks 11th in Division-II in saves-per-game, averaging just over 10 saves per game...he has totaled 115 saves on the season with a .540 save percentage and a 10.59 goals-against average...he posted a season-high 17 saves against Bentley...the Penmen are averaging 6.60 goals per game this season.

THE GOLDEN LIONS: Dowling has won its last five games and has suffered just one loss this season, a 6-7 decision to USILA top-ranked Mercyhurst...Vito DeMola leads the Golden Lions offensively this season with 22 goals and nine assists...Michael Brennan has scored a second-best 20 times and has also dished out three assists...Tom Cleary has added 18 goals and one assist while Danny Abbene has scored 15 times while distributing four helpers...Billy Richardson has scored 11 times with a shared team-high of 15 assists...Brendan Hayes has also notched 15 assists and has added six goals...faceoff specialist Louis Riley has won 68.6 percent of the 194 faceoffs he has taken...goaltender Ryan Dougherty has started all 10 games in net for the Golden Lions...he has totaled 108 saves this season with a .651 save percentage and a 6.05 goals-against average...the Golden Lions have outscored opponents 124-65 on the season and average 12.42 goals per game.

HEAD TO HEAD:  The Golden Lions have won all nine meetings between the two schools including a 7-4 win at home last season...Greg Reynolds led SNHU with three goals and an assist, while Vito DeMola led the Golden Lions with three goals.
