PLEASANTVIEW, N.Y.—The Southern New Hampshire University men's lacrosse team dropped a 9-3 decision to the Setters of Pace University on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action. With the loss, the Penmen fall to 2-6 overall and 2-4 in NE-10 action, while the win improves the Setters to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in league play.
Kevin Kadlick led the Setters with three goals. William Scioscia finished with two goals and an assist, John Kolesar had two goals, and Matt Mirabito finished with a goal and three assists on the afternoon.
The Setters possessed a 2-0 lead after the first quarter and a 4-1 lead after two quarters on goals by Kadlick, Scioscia, Kolesar and Tom Murphy. Cuozzo connected for his first goal of the game with six seconds remaining in the first half.
Pace outscored SNHU 5-2 in the second half to clinch the 9-3 win.
Brendan O'Brien (Hopkinton, Mass.) took the loss in net and totaled 12 saves. Kevin Grady earned the win in net for Pace and posted 13 saves. The Setters outshot the Penmen 40-29 on the afternoon.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Tuesday, April 10 when it hosts No. 3 Merrimack College at 4:00 p.m. at Larkin Field.
