  • Four Penmen Repeat as Winter NE10 Academic All-Conference Selections

    MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the second straight year, Southern New Hampshire University seniors Brett Strawn (Wareham, Mass.), Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) and Ashley Elder (Bristol, Conn.), as well as junior Alanna Murphy (Nashua, N.H.), all claimed Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors the league office announced Tuesday.

    BEDFORD, N.H. – Graduate student Tiago Fernandes (Porto, Portugal) and senior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) received male and female Athlete of the Year honors, respectively, to highlight nine major awards that were handed out Monday night, as the Southern New Hampshire University Department of Athletics & Recreation celebrated the 2018-19 season and recognized its seniors at the 54th Annual Athletic Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Manchester Country Club.

    Freshman Joe Fiorino (Willow Grove, Pa.) scored twice, including the eventual game winner in the second period, and junior goaltender Kurt Gutting (Weymouth, Mass.) made 37 saves, as the second-seeded Southern New Hampshire University men’s ice hockey team captured its second Northeast-10 Championship with a 4-3 win against top-seeded Saint Anselm College on Saturday at Sullivan Arena.
