    MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University athletic department placed 242 of its student-athletes, representing all 19 programs, on the Northeast-10 Spring 2018 Commissioner's Honor Roll, the league office announced Tuesday morning.

    BEDFORD, N.H. – Seniors Chris Walters (Stamford, Conn.) and Rianna Fasanello (E. Bridgewater, Mass.) received male and female Athlete of the Year honors, respectively, to highlight nine major awards that were handed out Monday night as the Southern New Hampshire University Department of Athletics & Recreation celebrated the 2017-18 season and recognized its seniors at the 53rd Annual Athletic Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Manchester Country Club.
  • Field Hockey Compiles Third-Highest GPA in Division II, Receives NFHCA National Academic Team Award

    The Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team was named a recipient of the 2017 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II National Academic Team Award on Tuesday, as the organization announced its award winners. The Penmen generated a team grade-point average of 3.66, which was third overall amongst all NCAA Division II field hockey programs.

    MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior Tyler McLaren (Pepperell, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men’s cross country team captured Northeast-10 Sport Excellence Award honors and was also one of a league-high 11 Penmen to receive NE10 Academic All-Conference recognition – doing so for the third consecutive season – as the conference office announced its fall academic honors Thursday.

    MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University Department of Athletics officially opened Penmen Stadium – its brand new, state-of-the-art facility – when it held its ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of a crowd of more than 300 people Saturday morning and then followed that up with a men’s lacrosse victory in the first game played on the new turf.

    Hélène Servais of the Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team was named the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Year on Wednesday, as the league announced its All-Conference teams and major award winners. Laura van der Doorn also garnered recognition from the NE10, as she was named Second Team All-Conference.

    Southern New Hampshire University field hockey sophomore Megan Lewis-Taylor spent six years serving her country in the United States Coast Guard. After being honorably discharged, Lewis-Taylor returned to school to pursue her goal of becoming an engineer, but one year in, the college she chose shut its doors.
