Four from SNHU Baseball Playing in Summer Leagues

MANCHESTER, N.H. - A total of four members of the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team are playing in various summer wood-bat leagues this summer.  Rising sophomore Brad Monroe (Hampton Falls, N.H.) is currently pitching for the Danbury (Conn.) Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL).  Rising senior Steve Golbranson (Abington, Mass.) and rising junior Bryant Gauthier (Lynn, Mass.) are pitching for the Brockport Riverbats of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL), while rising sophomore A.J. Dusablon (Burlington, Vt.) is pitching for the NYCBL's Allegany County Nitros.

Monroe, a product of Winnacunnet HS who struck out 45 in 55.2 innings of work as a freshman, struck out the side in an inning of relief in the Westerners' season opener, a 5-3 win over the North Adams Steeplecats on June 6.  He made his first start for Danbury on June 13 against Vermont, working four-plus innings and scattering five hits while allowing one run.

Golbranson, who notched a 4-4 record and 3.84 ERA in 11 appearances this spring, has made one start for Brockport this season, working June 10 against the Elmira Pioneers.  Golbranson went five innings in that game, allowing four hits and a pair of earned runs while striking out five.

Gauthier posted a 1.98 ERA and struck out 24 in 27.1 innings of work for the Penmen this spring, totaling 10 appearances, including eight out of the bullpen.  He made his first start of the season June 11 against the Webster Yankees and allowed just two hits in five innings of work, recording five strikeouts while walking just one.

Dusablon, who made five starts and seven appearances for Southern New Hampshire this spring and posted a 4.97 ERA, made his first start of the season Sunday night against the Geneva Red Wings.  Dusablon no-hit the Red Wings for six innings and in seven innings of work allowed two hits and one earned run while striking out four and working around five walks.  He earned the win in a 4-1 victory for the Nitros.
