MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University athletic department placed a record-breaking 269 of its student-athletes, representing all 19 programs, on the Northeast-10 Fall 2017 Commissioner's Honor Roll, the league office announced Friday afternoon.
In total, 3,685 NE10 student-athletes earned a grade point average of 3.0 or better as the Commissioner's Honor Roll members made up 61 percent of the total number of student-athletes from the 15 NE-10 institutions. In addition, 80 percent of the 16 member institutions had at least 50 percent of their total student-athlete population make the list, while nine reached the 60-percent mark.
The 269 Penmen on the list accounted for 78.4 percent of Southern New Hampshire's athletes (343) – the highest mark among NE10 programs. SNHU also had 21 athletes achieve a 4.0.

The NE10 CHR program recognizes the conference's student-athletes for their achievements within the classroom. In order to be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Each year, 4,500 student-athletes compete in conference championships, making the NE10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship.
